Schengenerinformationssystem (SIS) und Schengen VISA

Das SIS ist ein europaweites elektronisches Personen- und Sachfahndungsinformationssystem, das durch die Schengen Staaten gemeinsam betrieben wird. Es enthält Informationen über polizeiliche und justiziell gesuchte, mit einem Einreiseverbot belegte oder vermisste Personen sowie über gestohlene Gegenstände (z. B. Autos, Waffen).

Das C-VIS ist ein System für den Austausch von Visadaten innerhalb des Schengen-Raums. Es umfasst ein zentrales IT-System (C-VIS) sowie eine Kommunikationsinfrastruktur, die das zentrale System mit den nationalen Visa-Systemen der Mitgliedstaaten (N-VIS) verbindet.

Jede Person hat das Recht, Auskunft darüber zu erhalten, ob im C-VIS oder im ORBIS (nationales Visa-Informationssystem der Schweiz) Daten über sie bearbeitet werden und kann gegebenenfalls Einsicht in diese Daten erhalten, sie berichtigen bzw. löschen lassen.

The SIS is a Europe-wide electronic system for sharing information on persons and objects operated jointly by the Schengen states. The SIS contains information on persons wanted by police and judicial authorities, persons subject to entry bans and missing persons, as well as on stolen objects (e.g. cars, weapons).

C-VIS is a system for exchanging visa data within the Schengen area. It comprises a central IT system (C-VIS) and a communication infrastructure that connects the central system with the national visa systems of the Member States (N-VIS).

Everyone has the right to obtain confirmation as to whether data is processed about them in the C-VIS or in ORBIS (national visa information system of Switzerland) and, where applicable, has the option of accessing this information and having it corrected or deleted.
